Most of us have ways of managing how we show up with others.

We hold back.
We adapt.
We move away from what feels more vulnerable, more exposed, or harder to stay with.

These patterns are intelligent and protective, built from the history that shaped us.

And they also limit how much of us is actually here.

This group is a place to work with those patterns over time.

To notice where you pull back or override yourself.
To experiment with showing more of yourself.
And to stay in relationship while you do it←

(That last part matters.)

Can you dare to
express yourself fully?
Can you remain present as others respond—
feeling the impact, and continuing to reveal yourself over time?

That is how truly self-supporting patterns begin to take hold.

Group work offers self-transformation through the power of relationship.

What the work looks like

We prioritize embodied experience (not just talk) to generate insight.

Sessions include:

  • Relational exercises
Working directly with other group members. Speaking what is present in real time. Exploring contact, distance, impact, and repair.

  • Guided explorations into the self
Slowing down and tracking what happens internally. Noticing impulses, reactions, and places where you leave yourself or hold back.

  • Embodied work
Via grounding, breath, and movement, bringing attention to the body as a way of accessing and expressing what is held.

  • Expressive work
Giving form to what is present through voice, language, and physical expression. Finding ways to communicate more directly and honestly.

This is not a psychotherapy group
where each person’s process is contained in isolation.

The work is relational and happens in real time.
You will bump up against others, feel edges, and encounter moments of discomfort or vulnerability.
Rather than smoothing these over,
the group works with them directly.
These interactions become the material for deeper self-understanding and for changing patterns and internal narratives that keep you stuck.

What this approach can help catalyze

Over time, something shifts in how you live inside yourself and with others.

You catch yourself when you’re holding back.
You stay a little longer in moments
that used to feel too much.
You find more range in how you express yourself,
and more room to take others in without closing off.

There’s more energy available.
More clarity.
A stronger sense of what actually nourishes you.

You begin to feel more solid in yourself—not because everything is fixed, but because you start to feel more alive in the moment.

Who this is for

This group is a good fit if you:

  • notice yourself holding back in relationships

  • want to feel more alive and more connected

  • are willing to take risks in how you show up

  • are open to working in an experiential, relational setting

This is longer-term work that isn’t accomplished in just one weekend workshop.

It asks for consistency, willingness, and participation.

In return, it offers a place where
you can gradually show more of yourself,
be met in that,
and develop the capacity to stay.

Our group facilitation draws from the principles of Core Energetics—a modality that powerfully integrates body psychotherapy and energetic attunement.

All About Group…

Listen to this conversation between group facilitator Kellie and former participant Jeremy, where they explore Group from both sides—the framework behind it and the lived experience of being a participant.

“If we want the rewards of being loved we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known.”

Kreider, Tim. 2013. "I Know What You Think of Me." The New York Times: Opinionator, June 15, 2013. https://archive.nytimes.com/opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/06/15/i-know-what-you-think-of-me/

“Group with Kellie deeply expanded my understanding of what it means to be in authentic relation to others, while also staying in relation to myself. I've grown a new understanding of what it means to be truly human, mess and all.”

— Group participant

So how does Group work, exactly?

At times, one person’s process will be worked with in the group while others witness and participate where relevant. At other times, you’ll work in pairs, triads, or as a full group.

There will also be larger group processes where the work is guided by what is happening in the moment, and edges are explored as they arise.

Throughout, there is an emphasis on
owning your truth,
embracing intensity,
staying in relationship,
risking vulnerability,
and cultivating an attitude of
curiosity over certainty

A note on pace and consent
There is no expectation to push past your capacity.
You are invited to find your own edge and work there.
Participation is active, but not forced.
Physical contact is never assumed and is always explicit and consensual when relevant.
The emphasis is on presence—which carries its own intensity
—but not on intensity for its own sake.

Wait—Outside? In the winter? In Seattle?!

(yes, but only part of it is during winter!)

Sheltered group oasis

If there’s been an upside to the pandemic, it’s been the resulting discovery that being outdoors not only solves a lot of virus transmission issues, but that it also fosters aliveness and vitality in people. While some of the work happens inside, the majority of group work takes place under a beautiful sheltered pavilion that keeps people dry during any precipitation. Heaters and a natural gas fire bowl help provide warmth from the chill. The fresh air oxygenates and enlivens the experience, and a waterfall provides sound privacy. We will move, use our voices, and dance. Doing all of this outdoors is such a glorious treat when so much of our lives during the Fall, Winter, and Spring are spent indoors in the PNW.

I loved being outside – it allowed us to feel the energy of beautiful outdoor space: birds, plants, wind chimes gently knocking, the fire, the feeling of the stones beneath our feet. For me, the space felt like another “being” in our group.

“If you’re reading this, you’re probably ready to dive in... If there’s even the tiniest spark of desire within you, to take off the mask, to release from the weight of shame or unburden yourself of the fear you carry that somehow, you’re not good enough or right enough, Group is for you. I came to Kellie after years of grief and trauma and didn’t know what else to do. The work helped me understand we aren’t just our minds or our bodies or our spirits or our hearts: we are all of it. And to address the deepest parts of ourselves, in relationship with other people, is to dive into what it means to take off our masks and experience the messiness of humanness. Kellie is masterful. I would say she’s a magician but that would disregard all the work that Kellie does, in individual and group sessions, to create a grounded, safe, mystical, loving and joyful space for you. You are worth this. Believe me”
