What’s Core Energetics?
You were born with the capacity to love deeply, feel fully, express yourself honestly, and meet life with vitality.
But life happens.
We all adapt to pain, loss, disappointment, and the need to belong. We learn to hold back our feelings, tighten our bodies, silence parts of ourselves, or work harder to be accepted. These adaptations often help us survive difficult experiences—but over time they can begin to limit how fully we live.
Many of us eventually mistake these protective patterns for who we are.
Core Energetics offers another possibility.
A body-centered approach to personal growth that recognizes that lasting change doesn't happen through insight alone Core Energetics understands that our thoughts, emotions, bodies, actions, and deepest sense of meaning are inseparable. When one changes, the others begin to change as well.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms or behaviors, Core Energetics works with the whole person. Together we explore the patterns that have shaped your life—not to judge or eliminate them, but to understand the wisdom they once held and to discover whether they still serve you.
As those protective strategies soften, something else naturally begins to emerge:
greater aliveness
deeper connection
more authentic relationships
increased resilience
clearer choices
the freedom to express more of who you really are
What does a session look like?
No two sessions are alike.
Some involve conversation and inquiry. Others include breathwork, grounding, movement, visualization, expressive work, mindfulness, or body awareness. When appropriate—and always with explicit discussion and consent—a session may also include supportive touch as part of the process.
The interventions matter less than the intention behind them.
Every experience is chosen collaboratively to help you move beyond the places where you feel stuck and toward greater presence, authenticity, and freedom.
Why work with the body?
Our stories live in more than our thoughts.
They live in our breathing.
Our posture.
Our muscle tension.
The ways we reach for connection—or avoid it.
Our capacity to receive, to set boundaries, to say yes, and to say no.
Working directly with the body allows us to access patterns that are often difficult to reach through conversation alone. As those patterns become conscious, new choices become possible.
The Core
John Pierrakos described the Core as the essential, life-giving center within each person—the part of us that naturally moves toward love, creativity, truth, and connection. The aim of Core Energetics is not to become someone new, but to remove what obscures the person you have always been.
I often think of it more simply:
